Once I had started noticing how much promotional campaigns work on constructing their audiences and making them feel a certain way about themselves, I bevame interested in how much parody is used in promotional campaigns. Although the Muppets is clearly far from our genre, I think it ios a clever campaign because it uses films that are in our genre (Girl With the Dragon Tattoo) to reinvent and sell itself. In some ways a big compliment to our promotional campaign would be if the various elements of it were distinctive and recognisable enough to be parodied in this way.
